How it works

The sticks split the kite in four
The long stick and the cross stick make four panels, so twelve designs are built on the panels: Four panels in four flat colors, split on the two sticks. A face uses the points: Fox kite: cheek tufts at the side points, nose at the tip.
The tail is part of the picture
Two designs make the kite's tail an animal's tail: Stingray seen from above, the kite's tail as its tail and Fish kite: scales on the diamond, the kite's tail as its own. Twelve more are for the tail alone, such as Tail bows painted as butterflies.
Questions and answers
What paint do you use on a kite?
We do not test paints. Whether a paint sticks to your kite's sail, bends without cracking and stays light is on its label, so read it first.
What are good kite painting party ideas?
Designs with a part for everyone. Party kite: four painters, one panel each, any colors shares one kite between four children, and One panel left white for names to be signed at a party keeps a space for every guest.
Which kite designs are easiest for small children?
One handprint to a panel, fingers aimed at the four points needs four hands and no brush, and White clouds on sky blue, so the kite hides against the sky is one flat color and a sponge.
Will the picture show when the kite is flying?
Big shapes and strong contrast read best from far away. Sun where the sticks cross, a long ray to each point and Shark head-on: top point as its nose, teeth mid-kite are both built from large flat shapes.
