How it works
Preppy Christmas drawing ideas put the bright look of smileys, bolts, bows and pastel checks on Christmas subjects: pink trees, sweet things, wrapped presents. Each hint opens with its colors and closes with a way to build the shape.

Swap red and green for pink and mint
The subjects are the usual ones: a tree, a stocking, a gingerbread person. The look comes from the palette: hot pink, mint and white where red and green would go. Color each shape flat, with no shading, and draw the outline over the top once the color is dry. A white tree on white paper needs a pale gray outline.
One motif is enough
Smileys, bolts and checks holds the patterns that mark the look: a smiley-face ornament, a lightning-bolt garland, a checkerboard stocking. Use one per drawing. For checks, rule the grid first and mark every other square before you fill.
- Leave a white gap between two pastels, or they read as one color from a step back.
Questions and answers
What makes a Christmas drawing preppy?
The colors and the motifs. Hot pink, mint, lilac and white take the place of red and green, and smileys, lightning bolts, bows and checks join the usual trees and stockings. No logo or brand is part of any drawing here.
What are easy preppy Christmas things to draw?
Choose Easy in the box under the button. A lightning-bolt garland, an ornament with a bow where the cap goes and three small trees in pink, mint and lilac need only circles, triangles and ruled lines.
What colors do I need?
Hot pink, pale pink, mint, lilac, orange and white cover most of the ideas, with yellow for smileys and bolts. Each hint lists its own colors, so you can start with the pens you have.
Which ones work on a Christmas card?
A row of trees as a border, every other one pink, frames a message. For the front, try three scalloped tags in pink, one name on each, or a felt garland spelling MERRY.
