How it works
A stickman is a circle and five lines, so the pose has to say everything. These stickman drawing ideas name the line that does it: the lean of the spine, the bend of a knee, the angle of an arm.

Spine first, then the limbs
Draw the spine as one line and decide its lean before anything else: forward for running, back for surprise, curved for tired. Hang the arms from the top and the legs from the bottom.
One prop makes a character
A stickman has no clothes, so one object does the job. A tall puffy hat is a chef, a circle around the head is an astronaut, a zigzag at the hips is a ballerina.
- Lift one foot off the ground line. A figure standing on both feet looks parked.
- Draw hands and feet as short dashes. They show which way a limb points.
Questions and answers
How do you draw a stickman?
A circle for the head, one line for the spine, two for the arms and two for the legs. Join the arms a little below the head, not at the neck.
How do you make a stickman look like it is moving?
Tip the spine the way it is going, bend the knees and elbows, and swing each arm opposite to the leg on its side. A dash of shadow under a lifted foot finishes it.
What are easy stickman drawing ideas?
A stickman doing a handstand, a proud stickman with hands on hips, two stickmen holding hands, or a stickman chef in a tall hat. The Easy level, under More filters, holds 20.
How do you draw a stickman with emotions?
Use the posture. Chest out and elbows wide reads as proud, a curved spine with hanging arms as sad, knees together as nervous. None of the fifteen feelings here needs a face.
