How it works

A penguin, a pretzel, a parachute, a pirate: things to draw that start with P, in five groups. Each hint names the few shapes that make it, which helps when the page is still blank.

A page of P, one from each group

A capital P is a tall line with one loop at the top, which leaves room below. Put Pinwheel spinning in the wind inside the loop, then line up four more under it: an animal, a food, a place and a person.

P-words built on a circle

Several start as one round shape. Pufferfish blown up into a ball is a round ball with spikes all over. Pocket watch with its hands at half past three is a circle with a small ring on top. Pomegranate wearing its little crown is a ball with points.

  • Photographer starts with P but sounds like F, so skip it in a lesson on the P sound.
