DIY jean jacket painting ideas, part by part
Collar and cuffs take small repeats: Cuffs as piano keys, black keys down from the top edge. The pocket flaps are pointed, so Pizza slice painted on a pointed pocket flap needs no outline. Yoke designs follow the seam under the collar, and the back panel designs are placed by the yoke seam, the side seams, the waistband or the panel's center.
Hearts for every part
The Hearts group holds the 14 heart jean jacket painting ideas, at least two for each part: One heart on each collar point, Heart filling the left pocket flap, point to point, Hearts hung like bunting from the yoke seam and Large heart filling the back panel, seam to seam.
Questions and answers
What kind of paint do you use on a jean jacket?
Craft acrylics can be used on fabrics as well as canvas, and some paint is sold as fabric paint. How either one is set, and what washing does to it, is on its label: we do not test paints, so follow that.
Where is the best place to paint on a jean jacket?
The back panel is the largest flat area, framed by the yoke seam, two side seams and the waistband, and 24 of the 60 designs are for it. The collar and cuffs, the pockets and the yoke hold 12 each.
Can I paint a band or a brand logo on my jacket?
None of the 60 uses one, or a team, an album or a film: those marks belong to their owners. Where a design has lettering, as in Your own word in capitals, as wide as the back panel, the word is yours.
